we rented a small van (VW Caddy, 7 seats) for 2 weeks in Crete. Athenscars had the best rate of all other car rentals I contacted. For even cheaper than the other companies, they offered full insurance coverage, baby seats and 2nd driver.

We took the auto at Heraklion airport (1 minute walk, just in front of the main entrance) and dropped it back at their office West of Heraklion because it was easier for us. They even drove me back to the city center.

We have been travelling to crete for nearly twenty years and we have used Athens Cars continually. They are always there on time, efficient in administration with easy drop off facilities in easy walking distance to the Airport. The ability to pay cash without a credit card or a ‘deposit’ to cover any damages gives great peace of mind. Not only that they are pleasant people to deal with.

Having been stung by car hire firms in the past I was apprehensive but using Athens Cars was smooth and stress free. I had originally booked the Suzuki but was able to swap to a larger car with no fuss. Great service with collection from the airport and return when dropping car off. No hidden charges and a swift return of deposit. If we return to Crete I’d certainly use Athens Cars again.
